Sizing a rear blade

I'm going to look at a rear blade for use with my IH 684. It's an old, heavy-duty rhino blade - I'm not sure what model. It looks like 900 model maybe? I don't know, anyway, it's 8ft and reportedly 800-900 lbs.

I intend to use it primarily for road maintenance: snow removal, grading, etc.

Does that seem like too much blade for my IH684? Specs:

2WD
69HP
~7000lbs w/a loader
No chains :-/

I can't afford to spend tons of money, and most other used blades I've seen around are cat1, 6', and appear relatively light-duty. My rear wheels are 6' on outside, so I'd like at least 7', to extend beyond their footprint when angled.

Any advice? Is 800lbs too heavy? 8ft too wide?

I run a 7 foot 35 series Land Pride blade behind an 86 HP tractor. When angled it does not cover the rear tire track but that is no problem. When plowing snow I start in the middle of the road, making sure that the left edge of the blade gets the snow in the middle. After two passes in each direction everything is clear. If the snow gets too deep I can always angle the blade in the opposite direction and go backwards with the main frame of the blade offset to the ditch side. The blade is hydraulic cylinder compatible but just do the adjustments manually. So far nothing has gotten torn up by too much speed or too much power. This is with no rear wheel weights, no fluid, and no chains. The clearance between rear tire and fender does not allow for use of chains. An 8 foot blade would be nicer but this one is paid for.
