Hi Guys,
I am working on a old cotton wagon that was converted into a wagon used to give hayrides for kids on class trips. The wagon was stripped of the high sides and made a little larger.
He has six of these wagons and every one of them is a little different.
Last month while using the wagon,we had a wheel failure where the front hub broke and ended up in six pieces. We have attempted to find some markings on the pieces to no avail.
We did remove several others to see if we could find any marks,no good.
Locating a new hub has proved to be almost impossible,or should I say up until this point impossible.
The hub is a six bolt hub with a six inch center to center patteren.
We have tried several hubs that we were assured were the correct ones, and still we look.
The two bearing are LM 29749 and LM 67048.The issue we are having is that the hub appears to be shorter than most hubs and the one we have tried are to long and the outer bearing does not slide over the threads onto the shaft.
The spindle is a short compact spindle that appears to be aprox 1/2 inch shorter than most.
The spindle from the outside end of the threads to the last step where the seal is, is 3 3/4 inches. The shaft at the inside bearing is 1.5 inches and the shaft at the outer bearing is 1.25 inches.
With the hub laying flat on a table, the hub is 3 3/4 high.It is made of cast.
Would anyone have a suggestions.
