Can anyone identify

good bourbon

New User
Curious if anyone can identify this disc. I do not know make or model. I do not know how the paint will show in the pictures but I would say the paint is orange. Thank you in advance for any information.

A lot of that hitch structure and the rounded front angle iron looks a lot like an old double disk front that I have. It's IHC.

A lot of disk manufacturers back in the day tho, they tended to copy each other so doesn't have to be.

Thank you for your replies and thoughts.
I was able to get some slightly better pictures showing slightly more detail. The number 1650 is stamped on one of the spacers and is the only number I could find. The paint looks original and is more orange than red, the straps are close to Case red. It should be visible that someone has bolted a length of RR rail on the top of the frame for weight. If this was an IHC item any thoughts where any identifying numbers would be. The mention of its similarity to a tandem disc is interesting. I thought the tongue and frame looked a bit stout for the size of the implement. One of the pictures is taken from below and shows a loop at the back of the frame, attachment for a second gang?
Thank you again for your help, very much appreciated.

looks like a well made disk,
probably had a second gang at one time,

I looked around a little at different manufacture of old drag type disk, but I never found any that matched the rounded frame member.

I would just paint it whatever color that matches your tractor and call it whatever brand you want and tell anyone that disputes your brand selection to prove you wrong.

good looking disk and with the iron weight on it should cut well.

keep it well greased,

Thank you again for your thoughts.
I have not been able to find any identifying marks and certainly no eagles. I have done the google "images" search and have not seen anything like it. I also do not know enough about older equipment to narrow down possible manufacturers by knowing who used orange paint. It does seem to be well made, if not over built. It is missing the inner disc blade on the left side and that has made the entire side have a bit of play. That could be why the left side bearing also has some slop; will have to learn how to fix this. Over all I am happy with it and think I can't go wrong for $100.
Again, many thanks to the knowledgeable for helping the clueless.

I might have found the brand of your disk. look at these attached pictures
was looking in the Memphis craigslist farm section and there was a drag disk that looked somewhat like yours. if not its fairly close,
the ad also listed the brand and model number, which is not normal for old drag type farm equipment.

International Harvester P-1600 8foot disk harrow.

if it is your make and model disk, somewhere out there in a fence row is the back half of your disk

That sure is close. Thank you so much for the information. As someone previously mentioned, there may have been a fair bit of copying going on in manufacturing these items. I do not think it is exactly the same but shares the general design. I am attending a ceremony at Paris Island, SC but will be home by the weekend and will take a much closer look. Thank you again for the this information.

There were many implement manufacturers who would build their product and then paint it the color some tractor manufacturer wanted on it. So the same disc might have been sold by AC, Oliver, MM, Ford, etc. All the older IHC implements I have found have the IHC logo formed on their castings. Without such brand logos, you probably have a disc built by an independent company and sold by some established tractor company.

I took the wire brush an and under the rust and mud found a stamping on the bearings, different number for left and right but the logo is the same.

Paul in MN....I looked at the back corners of the top frame and it is obvious that there was something else bolted to the back of this disc, as you suggested.

Thank you again.

I am curious, what is a good bourbon. I'm a sour mash (Tennessee) guy. Best shine is at the faar station in Johnson City Tenn.

Well GordoSD I 'm thinking maybe Tin Cup in a well worn leather chair in front of a fire. Or at the hunting camp sitting on a log.

I found this post from another forum with a few pictures. Very close to mine, at least what is left of it.

I also spoke with a knower of much when it comes to IHC and he said that orange paint was used in the 40's when the red was unavailable.

The red will fade to orange. I had a McCormick mower that as of now would be 120 years old and the orignal paint and it had turned orange.

I think his orange was just faded red. All I ever saw from that time frame was red and I am from 43.
