A BWF just came up for sale near me. Would 10 blades per gang make it around 14' ?? Picture was not real clear, could possibly be cone blades. My 730 has 16.9 x 38 duals, sandy soil. I would be discing soybean or small grain stubble to prep for new crop seeding. Thanks for any insight you folks may have.

We always pulled a 12' JD double gang wheel disc with the family JD 730 diesel. Sometimes with clamp on duals and sometimes without the duals. The duals were more for floatation than traction when we used them.

(quoted from post at 21:46:31 11/09/16) We always pulled a 12' JD double gang wheel disc with the family JD 730 diesel. Sometimes with clamp on duals and sometimes without the duals. The duals were more for floatation than traction when we used them.

Some of JD disk harrows such as models KBA,RWA & AW would not penetrate soil as well as a BWA or BWF especially if these later referred to disk harrows had the option of cone disk that JMS/.MN referred to.

Don't know where you are but 99% of the bean stubble is notil palnted in the spring. I like to follow beans with a winter wheat planting in Sep. Nice cover crop, great feed for deer, great spring nesting place for pheasants and harvest in late Aug.
