disc mower question

I am looking at a disc mower that's going to be in an auction sale. Its a consignment sale so its a risky deal. 4 of the cutters move [rotate] about 2 in before the one on the end starts to turn. Any idea if that's a bad sign or acceptable. I don't have another one to compare it to. Thanks

I've always told people no more than 1/8 inch movement of the tip side to side or up and down.

My advice also is to stay away from it. You know there is something wrong with it. That is enough play to get the rotors out of time. Parts may be expensive and/or unobtainable. We have a Vicon CM-240 and a Long 2084 for a back up.
The Vicon we bought as a fixer upper but it had a good gear case and just needed work done to the pto input shaft. Also, we only gave $200 for it and spent about $500 for parts and a new curtain.I would say only if it goes super cheap and you know the parts are available, consider it.
