Can anyone tell me what I need to do to
make a split front rockshaft work properly
with only one remote cylinder on my 620
John Deere?

When you say fasten both sides together can
you expand on that please one side is
splined and the other is not.

I may be thinking about the New Generation frt rockshafts that one could add/remove 3 bolts to make it be single cylinder lift or split requiring 2 cylinders. Can you post a photo of your 2 cyl frt RS?

The simplest thing to do, would be to add a second cylinder and tie the two cylinders together with a Tee in the supply/return lines .

It's been many yrs since I've personally seen a 2 cyl frt rockshaft but I think the part in photo below is installed on wrong side. Anyone know what parts catalog lists 2 cyl frt RS's???

Their is no specific model number for the rock shaft accessory that I could find. However I was able to come up with some information. Many moons ago I ran a JD 730 with a four row cultivator. It had separate control's for the split rock shaft on the back of the tractor as well left and right remote control cylinders for the front mounted rock shaft. On a hunch I looked up the 720/732 tractor manual ( PC 530 ). pg, 257/ 258, sections 70.28/29. Both single and dual cylinder control was offered. He has the dual cylinder option. As you stated he could add a dual control to operate independently or just tie the two cylinders together for a single control system.

Adding another control is way to expensive.
I thought about tying the two cylinders
together but wasn't sure if I would produce
enough pressure. I am only using it for a
model 40 four row cultivator.

(quoted from post at 10:10:21 10/22/16) It can only be installed on this side.

Really? I think shaft can be installed from either side BUT I would need closeup photos to confirm my hunch. Can you post a photo of LH side???

sing 2 cylinders tied together will produce twice the lifting power of the single, as long as the cylinders are of equal size. You should have no problem being able to lift the cultivator, it may take a little more cycle time as you will need to pump twice the volume of fluid.

Just wanted to share an update. I added another cylinder and everything works great. Thanks for the help gentlemen.
