How do install new knife pan on a Super 717 New Holland?

Trying to install brand new knife pan in my Super 717 but can't seem to get the front of the knife pan to pop into place. Need to know how to do this because all the manuals think it simply falls right into place. Thanks for any help. -Neil

It should wiggle into place. Make sure the knives are not binding, you will have to reset them anyways, so make sure there is some clearance there. Also , clean out any residue where the leading edge of the pan fits in. Can be frustrating, but it should go in with out further disassembly. BEN

I remember doing it in the 80's. I don't remember the details but I know it didn't just slide in and required some work to get it into place.
