Put new Pump on that burnt up from poor
hydraulics now the twine valve won't
engage when pump starts running have to
manually lift valve to start tiying. Is
there air in system? Worked fine before
I burnt up pump.

Pump burnt up from the latching mechanism not working to keep pump from turning all the time. Not bad hydraulics.

You better check for all the springs in place and the pump relatching after each bale is ejected.

No air in the system if it works manually

Ditto what Roger stated about checking for presence of all 5 springs. Twine mechanism either isn't resetting(latching) when gate is closed after ejecting a bale(latch[key 45] is suppose to lock on bellcrank[key 4] after gate closes) or spool valve is rusty & not shifting when gate is cycled closed.

Mine does that when one of those springs is broken. You won't even see it missing - you have to look hard to see where it would go. I only know now because it has happened a few times.
