3PT Backhoe

53-Ford NAA

New User
Hello ALL,
I am looking at a Grizzly 3 PT Backhoe for my NAA tractor. Anyone use 1 of these on a similar tractor? I am wondering if the weight would be an issue ~1200# i am told. I would add a PTO hydro pump. Also any issues with using it? tipping issues performance issues?

Thanks in advance for any insite into this!!!

We used to run a "Howard Power Arm" on a JD 2510. Digging was fine. Had to be careful driving around as the front of the tractor would lift off easily! Later when we had a tractor with an all hydraulic loader, the backhoe balanced that tractor perfectly.

A former neighbor/friend had a Kelly back hoe on his 1953 Jubilee and he broke the axles and also broke the center link hook up on it. A 3 point back hoe is nothing but very hard on a tractor and it super hard on the 3 point which can/will cause a problem sooner or later

I have a back hoe on a late 1950 8N but it is a frame mount set up so the 3 point and the hyds of the 3 point are not used so no way to over tax them like a 3 point back hoe will

When new those tractors were only rated to lift 1250 so with the weight so far out I doubt it will even lift it. And if it does your very likely to break the toplink digging. If it's a good deal build a subframe and mount it that way and you will be ok
