JD 65 Combine

I have a 65 pull type combine that needs a few parts and I am wondering if any of you can help. First off I need to get some different rasp bars because mine are completely worn out, second I am looking for a few head parts. I need the sickle attachment that bolts to the front of the head as well as the reel. my head is now set up with a JD pickup for doing oats and wheat, where I would like to make the head back into its original state with the sickle and reel. the head is a 12ft head and if anyone could help me with this problem I would appreciate it. I am also putting this in the implement forum so don't tell me to do so. thanks!!!!!

A 65 is just the pull type version of the 55 self propelled. Those parts you need look at the 55's in scrap yard.

You say "back to its original state of sickle and reel". For those 65's from plains country where only small grains were grown in the era when they were new combines, the JD pickup would be original state, in other words from the factory with the pickup.

I know, but i never seen one with a straight cut head, because in the 1950 and early 60's they didn't grow beans in the Dakota's and the wheat wasnt bred for ripening and standing, so they were a strictly a pk-up machine. Ed Melroe invented the first pick up and sold it to John Deere, and then invented the Melroe pickup with the fan belt driven aluminum slats, but personaly i liked the belt pk up better, which is what we call the John Deere today. There were dealers selling 30 35 of those every year, and i never seen one with a straight cut on it, but 55's yes !!
