MF plow id?

Was looking for an old 4 bottom plow to go with my 4010....and there just ain't many left around! The day of the moldboard plow seems to have come and gone....

Anyhow...a neighbor has an old decrepit 4-16 Massey plow grown into the dirt in his pasture...and is willing to get rid of it.

The plow is new enough it's rubber-tired and hyd-lift....non-trip standards. That's about all I know about it. My guess is it's probably from the 1960's/early 70's. I looked it over pretty well and see no ID or serial plate(could've missed it)...

Any ideas what model # the described MF plow might be?

No plates, only paint and sounds like that is gone. Sounds like a pull type instead of the semi-mounted I would think you would be wanting for that tractor.

The old JD 4010 is a bare-back...no three point...the plow does have some red paint left it's just stuck in the dirt from decades of idleness.

Never saw a 3010, 3020, 4010 or 4020 without a 3 point hitch. Did not realize they were made that way.

'Standard'..I think is what JD called the bare back tractors...most folks call them 'Wheatlands'...however I think that's a Farmall term.

Lots of bare back John Deeres in Oklahoma...lots of bare back Farmalls and Cases too. I bought the 4010 'cause I've kept it in repair for like 20 years(one of my customer's tractors)..and it has a decent loader.

I have not gone back to look at the Massey plow yet....does an old Massey plow even have an ID/serial plate?
