What is this implement?

Hi, we found this old bucket implement on a piece of farm property we bought here in Waahington. I think we are going to display it. But, we would like to know more about it.
Any help would be appreciated .

Shelly, that is part of a front loader off of a tractor. Can't tell you which tractor but that is what you have.

I would call it a home built manure bucket built onto an old worn out factory bucket frame. Usually a standard bucket was temporarily converted int a manure bucket by bolting a plate with a set of tines welded in, into the bucket. The tines were usually longer. Yours has one tine that could be an original, while the others are just pieces of angle stock.

Looks like the upper half of a tricycle tractor 'trip bucket' loader. Mid point of long arms should have bracketing for the hydraulic cylinders and picture does sort of show lumps there. Left side long smaller rod would be attached to hand lever to 'trip bucket- look at the upper left end of the bucket at the bar or rod at end- would be where the hook or catch would grip bucket, tube going across top of bucket would be the pivot rod or bar- not sure what exact word would be, had the hooks both sides and the L arm for operating lever one side- left was standard on JD since clutch lever was on right side, IHC could be either, some Case had right side. straight or close to straight main beams would be used with tricycle tractors like H and M IHC or JD 60- have used both for manure loading in spring. Thank you so much. By the looks of the photos we found with this information, it appears to be all original except for one tine.

Yup, looks like part of a trip bucket manure loader. The lift cylinder(s) and some other parts that mount on the tractor are missing.

It (the frame) bears some similarity to this one on the 1936 Allis Chalmers WC that has been in my family since 1937:

The story was this loader was bought in 1946. It was used as a loader tractor on the farm continuously until 1997. Filled MANY loads of manure over the years. I didn't have it running this summer though as didn't need to use it. Has seen some use every year from 1998-2015 though. The lift cylinders leak really bad and need a tear down for new seals.

One original tine four replaced. Those angle stock tines would have stood up to only 2-3 years of normal use. No make that 2-3 days of normal use.

That's the exact same loader I started farming with.
A Horndraulic (I believe) on a Farmall M. I honed
the cylinders and rebuilt the rams many many
times. I finally took long flexible grease gun hoses
and screwed them in the Allen wrench vents and
then routed it back to the reservoir. At least that way
it wasn't squirting out the top of the cylinder at me
every time I raised a round bale up to get it in a
feeder. I finally took it all apart a couple of years ago
and put it on the pipe pile. There's lots of good farm
repair bits there.
