NH850 baler lift gate cylinder

I have found out that the cylinder is discontinued for the NH850 however, there is a seal kit. My question is has anyone found a replacement cylinder that fits.

Those cylinders are not all that hard to repair I know I did the 2 on my NH850 a couple year ago. Took me maybe 30 minutes each if that long

On my 2nd rebuild - just wondering if anyone has located a cylinder that will replace the discontinued one. Factory is 38" retracted length (pin to pin), 2" bore, 30" stroke - I would prefer close to 38" as possible so I won't have to relocate pin location. A 2 1/2" to 3" bore is also okay.

I just know my cylinders are very worn and may not live another rebuild and a used cylinder may also have the same issue - just thinking ahead because I really like my NH850.

Another question - Who manufactured the original cylinder? No markings on cylinder.

Good chance NH had them made per there spec. They are good about doing that on much of there equipment

Thanks for the info - I haven't heard of surplus. Part # 9-7259-30 should work however, only 1 in stock (surplus item?). I did find #9-8771-30 ($145) which is exactly what I need - welded cylinder 2 x 30 x 1.25 with a retracted length of 38" (restockable). For that price I'm buying 2 and I'll keep my old resealed cylinders as backups. Thank you very much for the info on surplus.

Note in a pinch last week while waiting for seal kit to arrive I used a 24" tie rod cylinder from TS - only thing I could find locally after business hours and it rolled 60 rolls. Issues it rubbed because it was a tie rod cylinder (wider than welded) and the gate didn't open completely (stroke too short) - wouldn't recommend long term use but in a pinch worked fine.

Question - The cylinder from surplus is a Wolverine brand has anyone used this brand - good quality?

The problem you had is why I do my best to keep 2 NH850 on the place plus a NH271 square baler so I have a back up

I put both on mine from surplus center but I don't remember # . They fit fine had to reroute the extend hose they look loader bucket cylinders. I'll try to look mon.
