I have a New Holland model 120 sickle bar mower, mounts to the draw bar, serial #9109, and cannot find any information on it.
The pitman stick snapped and my local TSC had one that looked right, same length (approximately 34 inch give/take an eighth), correct width, slightly less tall, and had the correct holes plus the slot on the drive end. I purchased the only one they had and after just a few feet of mowing the bolts on the drive end all pulled right out. I suspect the grain of the wood was bad, but don't really have experience with this.
I contacted my local New Holland dealers, but they cannot find this model number in any of their literature. I eventually ended up contacting New Holland directly, spoke with a friendly lady by name of Abbey, and she was unable to find anything. She did take my contact info and is going to continue digging and seeking internal help, but I don't hold out much hope.
The tag on the mower is very readable.
NEW HOLLAND MACHINE CO
SERIAL NO 9109
MODEL NO 120
NEW HOLLAND MACHINE COMPANY
NEW HOLLAND PENNA
It's looking more and more like I'll have to make a custom stick, and I'd like to get the correct dimensions because I do not want to damage the machine.
Anyone out there able to help?
Further searching on the Internet has turned up an overall length for this stick ranging from 33-7/8 to 35 inches.
