John Deere Lister for M Tractor

I have what I believe to be an MA-30 lister on a toolbar. I need to find the sprocket and drive assembly that fits on the tractor to drive the planter. Any help would be appreciated.

An MA30 is a 2 row middlebuster that mounts on a tool bar. You can add a lister to it and then it would become a MA31 - MA38 depending on how it is equipped.

If its a one row middlebuster then it would be a MA20, much like the 2 row set up with listers, it would be come a MA21 - MA28.

I suggest that you contact your dealer or search online for manual #OM-A13-1247, this is for the M4 & M5 tool bar. If you have an M4A or M5A tool bar then you will manual #OM-A13-351. Are you aware of the difference between the different series of tool bars?

Either way, you will need AM391T planter drive attachment and drive sprocket part number would be either C249A or C250A, I do not know the difference other than I do assume there is a different number of teeth. You can find these on eBay, but I can not verify if the sprocket is correct.

I have a large family of M implements including a mounted planter for a M10A cultivator. I have several tool bars with either field cultivators or middle breakers, but no lister. It would be interesting to see a picture of this unit mounted onto the tool bar.

My email is open if you have any other questions.

I was able to find the operators manual for the tool bar online a few weeks ago. It's has a decent amount but
does leave out some needed detail. Still uncertain on just how the throw rod will connect as mine is short
and bent in a ell. This may have been a field mod and I might have to make another one.

I was aware, from the book, that there are two different toolbars, still not certain what the difference are
and which one I have.

My hang up right now is at both of the seed boxes. One of the plate drive gears won't come free from the
slotted holding nut and those two must spinning freely from each other. On the other side the seed box pinion
gear and the stub shaft are locked together and they too must spin freely from each other. Everybody is
taking a diesel bath so hopefully I can get them to free up. Not certain if I can heat the cast on each
enough to free up or not.
