Got my bale basket in the field today

I got to use the new bale basket today. Sure beats dropping them on the ground! Blew out both tires the first time I loaded it, that's a lot of weight on two tires. Pulled the front tires off of my loader tractor and kept going. Got in a mess turning too tight a couple of times, but other than that, it went pretty well. Three loads baled and stacked.

Were the tires under inflated? That will cause more problems than over inflated with a heavy load. Mine has 6 ply tires IIRC.

They sure are sweet when you go to that from stacking on a flat rack![/url]

Are you raking so that your windrows go around the ends the first four-five times only, then after that they are back and forth only?

Works good in alfalfa and others sticky type crops.

In dry straw or very long dry grass, slippery material, it is an issue. Odd shaped cornered fields can be more difficult.

Turning to the left seems to work better than turning to the right with mine. As well if you can make an S shape zag after turning, helps some times. And, not pushing a lot of hay right on the corner helps of course.
