OT??? Weedwiper Questions

Neighbor used weedwiper with roundup on Johnson Grass in his Coastal Bermuda field. Seems to be doing a good job. I'm thinking of using the same on my pasture which has some sunflowers and broomweed. Pennsylvania State University says "spot treat" (spray) with roundup on grazing lands and wait seven days to graze. I can't find any advice on weedwiper use. Would the seven days be a good guideline? kelly

I have an interest in a weed wiper too. Look handy for controlling some offending weeds and native grasses that outgrow my timothy after the first cut. My only hesitation is - it would be my luck I would get some round-up on my tires and streak the field with brown tractor tracks. Sometimes a local soil and water conservation group has one for rent. The 7 day period would be whatever the label calls for - like round-up, but read the label.

We used to buy a kit from the local farm supply house, it provided the wicks and gaskets you bought the PVC pipe. We would mount it on the front loader and run over beans that had Johnson Grass, then they developed fuselaid that you could spray over the top and pretty much stop. I think the brand we bought was called a rope wick.
