Back in those day, there were a lot of small companies producing some type of equipment. They weren't very professional so didn't put on manufacturer's plates with SN's.

If you wanted to a heavy job of grading with that machine, it would require a 4-horse team. I've rode those old graders after they were converted to be pulled by a tractor, mostly spinning the big hand wheels to raise and lower the blade. Later on the township bought 3 new pull type graders with rubber tires - that was a big improvement although the design didn't change much.

One of the historical organizations had one donated. It is an Adams, forget the model. It looks lighter than yours. I argued earnestly to keep it from being painted as suggested my some of the women. Do not sell it, Some junk buyer will offer scrap price. DONATE to some museum where all can see and learn of our past. Nice things do not have a price.

Some of the Amish still use them to maintain their lanes, some a half mile or longer.

Grandpa and his neighbor Leo Schmidt co-owner the identical grader. In addition to grading the driveways, they also had the contract to maintain the
township roads. My job, as soon as I turned 15 and got my drivers licence, haul gravel on the township roads. Gravel pit was about 20-25 miles away. 1951
Ford F6 farm truck with a double endgate that my uncle built to spread the gravel. Grandpa and my uncle Alvin would follow with the grader pulled by either
the JD 41 A or the JD 51 B to level the road. My cousin still has the grader.
