Long 1199B Backhoe

I recently purchased an old Long 1199B 3pt backhoe attachment, and I've got an IH 684 that I'd like to use it with. The backhoe does have a PTO driven hydraulic pump, but I don't yet know if it works, and the fitting on the top of the in-frame reservoir is broken off. I believe I should just be able to hook it up to the rear remote the tractor. Is there anything wrong with that idea? Does this tractor have enough volume to run that as well as a 2250 loader? I wouldn't (and couldn't, practically) be using both at once, though I imagine I might use the loader to stabalize the tractor while digging with the backhoe.

The tractor capacity is 9 gal. Apparently The backhoe capacity is 7.75 gal, according to the manual. I'll admit ignorance of all things hydraulic. Is that a no go?

I would KEEP the PTO pump. They usually are much faster and you do not have to run your tractor as fast to have good cycle times. The PTO pump alos keep the backhoe a completely separate system. So nothing gets cross contaminated.
