Bale spike on rear of tractor

How many of you use a hydralic cylinder for a top link when using these? Looks to me like it would be the cats meow.

I'd love to but haven't. I think about it a lot but it is only during haying when I don't have time to fit one. I even have a good many cylinders to choose from.

Never needed one, but I pick up bales on even ground. In fact, never adjust top link once the spear is on.

I have a scissors lift type deal the bale spoke mounts on. Pain in the rear to mount, sort of like a post hole digger the top link is part of the scissors.

Works nice tho!

Got a hyd top link, actually two, a cat 1 and a cat 2, they are really really nice for many things, you won't remember what you spent on them once you use them for a year, would be hard to go back.

Once you use a hydraulic top link on a spear, you won't want to go back to a regular. I've also used one in combination with a scissor attachment. Great for loading bales on a trailer/wagon.
