On a JD 346 small square baler, can I move the
measuring arm stop with out knocking something
else out of time? Also can anyone post a pic of what
the stop should look like? I can't tell from the pics
I'm my manual, but I'm wondering if mine is worn
out. Thanks.

Stop that may need moved up for longer bales, down for shorter bales is key 23

Thanks, my stop has the sheeve wore into it, I prolly
need a new one. I don't have a pic of it right now.

You won't throw anything out of time adjusting it. If your sheaves are wore the shaft mounts have slotted holes where they mount on the bale case; you may be able to "tighten" it up a bit if the measuring arm is slipping. Check the measuring wheel shaft bushings too they can wear over time and cause you to scratch your head with varying length bales.

Be careful when tightening the set screw on stop. You can crack the stop. I usually take a file and file a little groove in the arm for the set screw to seat into. Don't need it so tight that way.

If you have a thrower on the baler you will need to change the trip arm on that for length of the bales. Check your operators manual.
