Doing a little broadcast seeding with my under $100 auction find Herd F160 seeder. Bottom plate which opens and closes was, OF COURSE, rusted shut. PB blaster soak and a slight ping with a hammer and it's free. Got a manual for it - clear enough instructions.
Hardest part was getting the PTO shaft lock slide button to move again - PB blaster and some easy taps with a hammer to move the button in and a punch/hammer to push it out until it was factory free. Next hardest was to rid the inside of the female splines so the thing would slide onto the PTO shaft of the tractor - AND come back off.
Sowing some Teff and Timothy today.
Fingers crossed.....
