Fast hitch sickel mower

Here are the pictures of my Super C with a fast hitch sickle mower attached. Again, this mower is for a 300 Utility. I made the attachment mounting box out a piece of 4" x 2" tubing. Binder books had the parts manual and the operators manual for the mower. Sorry the sideways.

Looks like the vertical link maintains the blue bellcrank at a fixed position. Do you raise and lower the mower without adjusting the hitch?

I have it adjusted and the length of the vertical bar set to where if I raise the mower it brings the head end of the mower bar up also. I can use the left side of the bell crank on the fast hitch to make sure the cutter bar is level when in the down cutting position. I also thought this whole linkage was used to keep the cutting bar level when in the cutting position. There is a lot of weight hanging out there on a 7' bar. I don't like to all the weight of the bar and the mower to run on the skid pads. I like it to float some. I mow pasture down in a river bottom sand and it helps it go over the badger and mole holes and across deer trails instead of thru them. That is just me.
