IH Corn Planter

I am wondering if anybody can tell me what model planter I have? I believe it to be an International 249 or 250. It has disc openers not shoes. And my next question is what number seed plates should I find for planning soybeans? The beans dont fit in the corn plates i have. Just for using in a deer food plot. I see their are all kinds of lustran seed plates on ebay. Thanks

A Photo would help. The IH80 and IH82 have been popular and then the cyclone. Cyclone uses a drum. If the 249 or 250 use the same plate as the 80 or 82, they can be ordered from lincoln age parts.

All plates for McCormick planters are same and fit all models. Only heard of 250 and 99% same as 4 row 449 and just 2 row version of 450 built in early 60's or late 50's. All befor any thought to a plateless planter. The 449-450 are highly desired planters now yet as they have a clutch lift, last planter from McCormick to have that.

Sorry

I do not know what you have, and it cannot be seen good enough to tell, what I can tell is that it is NOT a McCormick in the 249-250 family as thet are a tractor planter carried on 2 15" tires and you do not have that. Looks like from what I can see is that you have a NcCormick HORSE drawn planter that I don't know model nos on and have not been able to get any info on them but I have friends still using them for all their farmingn ot food plots.
