I posted a while back about my POS 3pt 55 gallon sprayer. Trying to keep the roller pump primed was a royal pain in the rear. Sometimes, it
would loose prime when 2/3 empty. Hit a bump in the field, loose prime.
The culprit was the roller pump drawing liquid from the top of the tank, like drinking with a straw. One of the pics shows the funky pickup line
someone "engineered."
So over the weekend, I converted the pickup to the bottom of the tank. Found a bulkhead fitting from tractor supply. The lid of the tank is
molded onto the tank, so the only way to route the bulkhead fitting to the bottom was use a piece of stiff wire. Not having any wire handy, I
used the next best thing - a fishing rod.
The sprayer works great for now - awaiting the next headache with it....
This sprayer has a 20 ft boom which is perfect for our small, irregular fields. I might take this sprayer, hard mount everything from it, except the
tank, to a trailer for easier hookup anymore capacity - maybe use a 150 or 200 gallon tank.
