Trying to save a concave for a pattern

I've got an old Ford 16-47 pull type combine I am trying to save. It's in decent shape except for the concave is rotten. I bought another one to get the concave off of and it turned out to be rotten too. I have had no luck finding a good used one or a NOS one so my only choice is to try to make one. The hard part is trying to keep it intact while it's being removed because it is very rotten. My thought was to cover the inside of it with fiberglass matting and then pour resin on it and let it set up. I figured that would hold it good enough for removal and measuring. Anybody else have any ideas? Yes I know it's old but we had one when I was a kid and I thought it was the neatest thing ever to see running so that's why I'm trying to save this one. Thank you for your help.

Is your second parts machine any good around the concaves that you would want to save the body of that machine? If not then just cut around the concaves and remove entire section as a unit and then with it out where you can get to it just cut small pieces of around till you get down to where without getting it completely free from the rest of the rust holding it together you are able to take pictures and put a hundred different measurements on them.
