Hello All
Just changed a bearing on the pulley side of the flail shaft. Got the pulley off with a puller by tightening up the puller and giving it a love tap or two on the wrench end of the puller. It popped right off. Now it doesn't wanna go onto the splines more than a quarter inch or so. I put the pulley in the oven for a couple of hours but that didn't help. Do these pulleys only go on one way?? The splines are straight but the grooves in the shaft are tapered. There are a couple of bolts on the pulley itself for balance so I wonder if I'm missing something. Any and all help appreciated.
Thanks

Carefully look at the splines on the shaft and in the pulley (sheave). Sometimes they use a "blind" spline that will allow installation
only one way.

Whoops...... Just found the problem...... I was trying to put it on backwards....... Got it up and running and tried it out...... Must've breathed in a big whiff of stupid this morning... Live and learn. Thanks for the help Roger. Much appreciated.
