New Holland 273 vs 275

Just wondering what the differences are between these two balers? Just bought a parts 275 and I know of a couple 273s sitting around, I'm hoping to make one good one out of them...thanks!

I think the 275 was a larger baler. Wider pickup and larger bale chamber. I looked at one some years ago and it had a Wisconsin V-4 rather than the usual 2-cyl.

If they are like the 282;283;425 I used to run. they have a lot of common parts between them. They also had a lot of 'model specific' parts on them too.Since I dont know what parts you are needing,go and give each baler a thorough look over. Compare what are the same, which are different.Knotters,needles,axles,driveline/flywheel and others parts are the same.

I think they are very similar. I know the 54A thrower fits on both of them. I do believe the pickup is the same on both. I think the 275 is considered slightly higher capacity but I don't know why. Betting many, many of the same parts.

The 275 was made before the 273. 273 was built 1968-1977, I think. New Holland parts site says 275 was built 1965-1971. Both have the same style feeder carriage and 14x18 chamber size. Seems like a lot of the 275s have the super sweep pickup and 3 joint driveline. Both run around 66-68 strokes per minute. A friend of mine has one of each, both good balers.
