school me on baler twine

son has been after me to switch round baler twine to Clearfield biodegradable twine since the dealership he works for sells it. I've been using Tytan from a different dealer as it's 8.00 cheaper per 20,000 feet. So, started checking on the net about twine. Menards has a biodegradable twine made from polypropylene and I see Clearfield is made from polyethylene.
Sisal just don't work for me as I move bales later in the year and many times the bottoms fall out so that's why I went to plastic, but plastic stays around a long time.
thanks
Gary

I have had the same problems with sisal and have gone to plastic which is also much cheaper. I will look for some biodegradable as I don't like the problems with disposing of regular plastic.

I use plastic and am VERY careful about removing it when I feed. I usually have a five gallon bucket full of used twine every time.

I know of guys that never take the twine off. They usually rent pasture and aren't very good about upkeep. I can't imagine rotary mowing that pasture after they had been there.

The biodegradable lasts forever and the "non-biodegradable" rots in two in just six months.
