Kuhn Discbine

I may be going this weekend to take a look at a Kuhn FC300G discbine. Does anyone have any experience with these, or know any common problems to look for? Also, just how small of a tractor should be able to run it?

No reason to believe they aren't a good machine. I've got a newer FC2860TLD. Kuhn invented the disc mower. Most other brands used theirs for a lot of years.
Mine's 9 foot. I've run it with 90,105 and 135 horses. It'll make the 90 and 105 smoke in heavy first cutting hay,but the 135 just plain uses too much fuel for cutting hay,so I generally cut with the 105.

They're decent. I have a Deere variant.... Make sure the bar isn't leaking/cracked. Beyond that, you get to change modules out if you hit
rocks but I think thats a fairly standard thing with discbines......
A neighbor has a NH 411 or 412 which uses the same bar and he's getting around with it behind a 995 Brown.... so that's mabey 55 horse at
most. I wouldn't want to run it with less than 70 myself and normally have more like 100 on it... but on the upper end is where you start
breaking stuff more rapidly.

Biggest problem is if the hay's down and you're cutting back in under it. The flails want to grab the hay before it's cut. It's a real power robber when that happens.
