Old Side Delivery Hay Rake

I have just purchased an old Side Delivery Hay rake. Thought it might be a JD because of the green paint but cannot find any identification on it. Does anyone recognize this rake.

If it's a JD it's pre 1960's 500-600 series at least. Looking at the parts, I see no commonality in shapes. I had earlier JDs but don't recall them having a series number and they too were different.....had both drawbar (2 wheel like is here) and tricycle stand alone. Great rakes, my current and preferred style.

Thanks for the comments, I am realizing it is not a JD. Would like to identify it so I could get axle bearings, and bar parts..

ptfarmer you are amazing... Thank You. I will get the parts ordered. So do you (or anyone else) know what the reviews would be on this unit. I have heard alot about the old JD 460 but this looks like it would work well..??

Thanks again..

It was a real good rake. Dad owned it until he had his farm sale in the late 90s & he didn't do anything to it.

It's a good rake if you have a relatively smooth field, the only thing that maybe a problem is how far back the one drive wheel is from the rake (it may bend some tines, or miss some hay if you are going across a field where there is some deep ruts, or holes). The newer pull types put that one drive wheel closer to the rake so the follows the ground better, but as long as the field is relatively smooth it should give you years of trouble free service. I just recently picked up a MF25 3 point, pto driven hay rake at a auction for $350. I used it last week without doing any work to it (it had about 15 broken tines, and it still did a great job). The MF rakes do share some common parts with other brands of rake so parts shouldn't be a problem.
A picture of my MF25 the day I got it.

Amazing these old pieces of equipment still function quite well after all this time. The MF25 looks a bit older than the 36. My field is fairly level even with a few shallow ruts.. The 3 point PTO style sounds interesting, but would worry about bouncing with my JD model A..
I had actually hoped to find a JD 640 without the dolly wheel to match my JD model A tractor and my #5 sickle mower. Still looking for an old JD square twine baler.. I don't have a big place and more of a Hobby thing. About 8 acres of wild grass that I have had the neighbor cutting for the last few years.. Hoping to do it the "Old Way"..

I have one of those rakes. Does a good job but a lot of parts NLA from AGCO Massey Ferguson. Found another one in a treeline recently that has the hitch all bent up. Brought it home to use as a parts donor.
