Hession - New Holland Haybine Sections - Guard Interchange??

Might add another haybine to the fleet over the winter for a back-up or maybe primary cutting/conditioning tool - in addition to my Hesston 1110.

Of course, I would want to stick with another Hesston 1110 or 1120 (or CaseIH equivalents), but also like the idea of trying a New Holland 472 or 488.

On the upcoming refurb of my Hesston, one of the things I'm leaning towards are sub guards. Not so much for down and tangled hay, but quick and easy replacing of broken sickle sections. I know it ain't rocket science in pulling the traditional guards or loosening or however it's done to make room for the sickle section to unbolt and come out (I have bolted sections vs rivets), for me it is a royal pain in the buttox. I'm surprised I've still got all my digits after changing a few this summer.

It appears to be that changing a stub guard would be a VERY quick field fix, free access to the sickle section from the top. The goal is a FAST field change. Hession has adjustable hold downs on their stub guards that I especially like. I believe the hold downs on New Holland stub guards are not adjustable, only on traditional guards.

It would be nice, traditional or stub guards, to use the same sickle sections and guards on Hesston and New Holland.

Are these interchangeable?

Thanks,
Bill
