Deere 327 Baler Plunger Bullet Part #??

Does anyone know what the Deere part # is for the plunger bullet kit that was an option? Its for a 327 baler. I helped a neighbor bale and his 336 had one. I like the idea of letting the bale get a little more air on tight heavy bales as we don't always get hay made at the optimum moisture here in Iowa. Between this and a Gandy applicator I think it would be a good setup for hay that's just a little damp yet and rain is coming. I cant seem to find it on the Deere parts fiche and the parts department at the dealership pretty much worthless when it comes to small square balers. I usually have the part numbers for them when I need something. I looked in my service manual and couldn't find anything in there either. Thanks for any help!!

Thanks for the info. Will have to do some more searching. If anyone can remember the name of the company that made them that would be a good start? Might just have to make my own.

Finger Lakes Equipment 585-526-6705 specializes in John Deere small square balers and may be able to help you out. They are a Mennonite outfit so do not wait until late Saturday or Sunday to call them.

I think Deere probably did have them.... the same as I think they had plunger extensions.... but you can't find either one in the parts system today. If I were you I'd just have a machine shop put a decent long taper on a piece of 1-1/2" cold rolled bar, cut it at about 6" length, then bore a hole in a piece of 1/4" plate and weld it in place. Drill the plate to match the holes in the plunger and bolt it in place... Just make sure the spike is centered.

The reason one can find the bullet in JD parts catalog is because it wasn't a JD part. PH extensions are in JD parts catalog outlined in RED. I sold & installed these same type PH extension when I was employed by JD dealer

Nice to know... because I don't recall finding them a year ago when I was looking for them in that diagram and the dealer had no clue. Be
nice if they actually listed them in the parts book as an extension seeing as how that's what they're called in the op's manual.

I'm fairly confident that the PH angles (extensions) have been shown in sq baler parts catalogs even as far back as the 60's when I 1st sold new JD parts at dealership.
