Mystery object emerged from barnyard

OK, we have a mystery object that erupted from the ground in our barnyard--any detectives out there recognize what this might be from?

House and barn date from 1880s, in Iowa. This object emerged from the dirt near the barn, but we've also found household objects in this particular area, including a clawfoot bathtub. So while "part from agricultural implement" is a leading assumption, it's also possible it's a household item. There seems to be a decorative pattern embossed on the front, but it's too worn to make out clearly.

So, anyone know what this is / what it's from?

Sat in those also. Geary School in Kansas had 3 or 4 rows of those, and one row of the same desks but twice as wide. Don't know what they was for.
We had hardwood floors at that school. The teacher, Beulah Grable was a portly woman. She4 would put down red compound on the floors and then sweep it up once a week. once she had the bright idea of telling us to bring 2 or 3 pair of socks to school. We did. At recess, she strewed the compound on the floor and we put on socks over socks and started skating. The desks were bolted to the rails, and the wood rails were bolted to the floor. Ive been to socials there, but I cant remember if they unbolted the desks and slid them to one side or left them in place. ANYWAY. My younger brother turned a corner too sharp and hit a desk and opened up his head, and that ended the skating.

I was in the Amish/old time bulk food store here in town and looky what they have on display...
