Bale Thrower on 373 Hayliner

I just bought a NH 373 Baler and want to take of the bale thrower to save weight. The owner's manual doesn't say anything about it but I would like to find a source that would tell me just what I can remove and what to leave alone. I could probably figure it out but don't want to screw it up.

Just a guess, but I'm assuming you're talking about a [b:3ab0366fba]2[/b:3ab0366fba]73! I would think that you would remove the v-belt from the thrower to the shaft that runs the length of the baler, then remove the complete thrower assembly, leaving the shaft in place.
I'm going from memory as it's been about 45 years since I did it!

It's no big deal , I took mine off my 269. Just take off the obvious and you will see what needs to come off and what will stay.

Move the chamber side spindle & wheel to the forward position to re-balance the baler. To each his own; for me removing a bale thrower to lighten a baler is like selling your car to save gas. The goal is accomplished, but not much else.

As said pop the drive belt , two bolts it pivots on and if she has a hydraulic cylinder that's gotta come off too.

I think that"s a model 70 thrower - if so, and you don't want to use it, you can take off the drive belt, and flip up the upper thrower belt, leaving the thrower right on the baler. I don't think taking it off will save you much
