i took a picture of my knot. I thought many of you must of seen this before and knew what I should do. I have posted the picture in implement photo but I'm not smart enough to get it here. I hope you can go to the photo gallery and see it. Any ideas on adjusting this knot will be appreciated. Thanks

If "cut" end of twine was on the bale side(sitting on bale). Then you need to decrease bale tension and/or increase twine holder tension.Looks like twine is getting pulled out of twine holder while knot is being formed.

I believe the broken strings were on top of the bale. I was breaking a about 10% of the bales. Then when I re-baled the next day I baled 62 bales without a miss and ran out of hay. Does it get hung up on the bill hook then break as the next bale gets formed? I don't get to bale enough and it seems like each field is different. My fields are all small, biggest one is about 6 acres and time is always short do to weather up here . I tried all the adjustments. It seems like it should be so simple I just can't seem to get my head around what's happening. All the good knots look perfect. Then it happens again. thanks for your input.

Looks like it's getting pulled out of twine holder when billhook is forming the knot. There's a good video on youtube by New Holland that shows how a bale is tied. That should help you understand what's going on.If you don't have an owner's manual you need one.Should have a knotter trouble shooting guide in it.

The first thing I would do as a matter of course is sharpen the twine knives and check the clearance on the strippers.
This does look though as it's being hauled clear of the holder on the top strand.... So I'd probably check all the feed loops back to the twine can and make sure there's no eyes missing... check twine tension and run that on the low side. If it's still pulling clear of the twine disc, then tighten the holder down in small increments. There is a spec for that.... but I usually just go by visual when it actually ties successfully...
The other thing I would do is make sure the tucker fingers are not flopping around.... if they are and they catch the twine between tie cycles... the plunger stroke will rip the twine from the holder.
