which engine for this baler

I put a wisconsin engine on my 570 new holland baler and it is getting tired and I would like to put a small diesel engine on it,what would you recommend? Have to have some kind of bellhousing on it for a jack shaft to put the pulley on,dont think I could just weld a shaft to a round plate and bolt it to the flywheel and put the pulley on it . Thanks

Air-cooled Deutz diesel engines are what all the modern self-powered balers use. Maybe you could find a junked-out Freeman or Hesston baler and salvage the engine and drive components. Most all of these balers are on the left coast so if that isn't where you live it may not be practical. Probably wouldn't be cheap, either.
