I have a broken tooth on my John Deere 1207 cutter bar. Where can I buy replacements? Also, is there any particular trick to putting them on? And, Is it okay to mow for a time without the missing tooth?
Thanks

Are you talking about a guard or sickle section? guards bolt to the cutter bar itself, sections are riveted or bolted to the sickle. They move back and forth cutting hay. It is not ok to run without them, if you do it ususally causes the machine to clog up. They can be found at any farm and home type store or JD

As asked are you talking about the sickle section or the guard. If it is the guard most any farm and home places have them as well as the sections. You need the number or letter off of them to get the correct one. As for running it like it is good chance it will clog up and cause you all sorts of problems

When I first got mine I broke a section. FIL had lots of spares for his old COOP mower that fit. I bought a set of bolts and fixed it but the nuts would not clear the holddowns so I had to rivet it. The next season I put in a new knife and wear plate from JD.
