855 baler back in business

Left side top hinge had broken, left side latch release tube was bent.

Welded some lifting plates to the door (they're painted NH red now) so I could handle it.

Used the loader bucket to get me close, my car lift jack stands for fine adjustment.

Replaced the bent tube with solid 7/8" rod, got enough to do the other side as well, thanks for the suggestion Ron (4020 Guy). NH want $60 for a new tube, cost me $13 for 6 feet of rod.

Added some plate around the hinge on the left, added some more weld to the right.

Got out to the field, needed to adjust belt linkages (lot of straightened bent pieces there), and the spring for the core cam had stretched, shortened it.

Rolled 48 bales with it yesterday.

Thanks for the offer of the balers Allan, but I don't need 'em...yet :)

Tell you what, if I do my part feeding the baler, they still make a good looking bale.

Ignore the field in the pic...had over 5" of rain since I mowed it, been tedded 4 times and raked twice. No feed value left, but the cows can pick through it and bed on the rest.

Keep your eyes open for 664/688 NH balers in case you want to upgrade eventually , they are getting pretty reasonably priced and are fantastic balers

Had it built 4 years ago this fall.

Wondering why I didn't do it sooner...oh yeah, I remember, no money :)

Been loving every minute of it. No more working on rocks outside for me.

Thanks for the advise on the baler
