How do I adapt the PTO spindle on my Ferguson T30 to accept the driveshaft on a Woods brush hog? There is no groove to hold the implement on

If I understand your question correctly: You are saying that the pto shaft in the tractor does not have the groove around it to hold the implement locking pin in place? If so, does the pto shaft have a hole in it? Also, is the tractor pto shaft the standard 1 3/8 inch diameter? I think that is the correct size. Older tractors had smaller pto shafts. If you have the standard larger size: Get a shaft extension with a female end to go over the tractor pto and a male end of the correct size. The female end should have a hole in it, and the tractor pto shaft should have a hole in it. Use a good steel bolt with double nuts on it to fasten the shaft extension to the tractor pto shaft. The male end should have the standard groove so you fasten the implement pto shaft to it in the normal way. Hope this is not confusing. Good luck. You may at some point want to investigate replacing the tractor pto shaft with the proper shaft.

You have the orignal 1 1/8" PTO shaft in the tractor that was made for use with a bolt on extension for use with a pull type implement like a combine. The extension wasfastened with 4 bolts to same place that holds the PTO shaft in. That extension puts the end of rhe shaft too far back far the angle of shaft on mower. It did not have a direct fasten to tractor shaft. They have a hole in them for a bolt for use with the 3 point bar mower that was the only mower made when that tractor was. You can get an over run coupler that will pin into that hole in your shaft. Do not thing about getting only a 1 1/8" to a 1 3/8" adapter to fit your mower shaft. You do need that over run unit so you do not crash into the car, truck, house, tree, fence or ditch when you try to stop and cannot do so because the mower keeps pushing you. You could spend the money wastfully replacing that 1 1/8" shaft with a newer 1 3/6" shaft but you would sitll have to have that over run coupler. And that mower you have will have a 1 3/8" shaft.
