my JD 338 baler has 9600lb twine is that what it uses ,,and can or should I use 9000lb,, and if I use 9000lb do I need to make any adjustments to the baler,, this is my 1st JD baler thanks cdv

Can't say I've heard of 9600 twine. I use 9000 in both my New Holland and JD348.

You can read for free the manual for your baler at JD's website.

my 336 works fine with the 9600 other sizes mess with the knotter adjustments and twine disc tensions. If you have it working now and switch be prepared to fight the knotter for a while.

I get bad results with 9000 twine in my JD336 balers. I like tight bales and the 9000 has thin spots just enough to break a few bales. But what a mess a few bales in a wagon is. So, I use 7200 now.

Started using 7200 plastic last year in straw. My 336 has regular twine bill hooks[NH ones] and it switched and never missed a bale, both sides. I'll never use sisal again, 2or4 loose bales in every load and 2 to 3 times the price. Just sayen....Ron

I use 9000 sisal or poly(don't remember the size) in my 328. Can switch back and forth with no adjustment. Poly is harder on the fingers of thwe guys stacking the bales (thinner diameter string than sisal).
