We have a CIH 8430 baler that has done a really good job for us. Yesterday we had a belt split & got to looking for the cause. Found that the little cable that holds the lacings together was broken (from wear I think) Looked at the rest of the belts & found they were also broken but hadn't came out yet. Just wondering if anybody else has had that problem. I don't know how old the belts are but they are all in good shape and the lacing clips are good. We run the baler the same speed that we always have and the hay is good & dry so I'm thinking age of the pins. We replaced all of them with 3/32 308-16 stainless welding rod which I think will last a lot longer. Just wondering what you all think about it. Keith
