Ok so my friend just got this NH1003 bale stacker so now we need a bale chute for his 276 which will drop the bales so the stems are up. Anybody know where one might find such a thing??

They are called "quarter turn chute". acclually easy to make.Cut the folding 'chute' on the rear in half lengthways. When the bale gets out of the bale chanber,it will roll to its side. A bar/pipe will catch it and keep the bale from rolling completely over.

Rich, we all know that you have many baler manuals on the shelf. Any one of them should have a picture of the available optional quarter turn chute.

You should be able to find a pic of one online . I have a factory New Holland one that I got with my bale wagon . Taking half the chute off won't work you need something on the other side to keep the bale from rolling .

Would you believe I only have one baler manual for a square baler and that is for a JD-14T. I have seen a video of a baler with the chute so I maybe able to make one for him. Plus I do have a NH68 parts baler so maybe I just need ot do a bit of measuring

If you go to New Holland's website for parts, you can download a free PDF that shows the 1/4 turn chute. These PDF's are free to download and print.

Hope this helps.

Being on dial up I can not do so since it takes so very long to do it. But I may have my friend do it since it is for him any how

It worked for me.

If your 276 has the original chute on it, all you have to do is unbolt the outer half like in the picture below. On Mine I did weld a piece of pipe below and welded the piece of the chute I took off as an outer shield approximately 18" out. It works great.

I will be over to my friends place in a few days and will look at the chute a bit closer and see how hard it will be to remove the left side of it

I have one side removed on my 281 hayliner and it drops nearly every bale on the side, unless you are on a hill side, but out of 500 this week I only had maybe 10 that did not land perfectly.
