Deep into the baler.

I was hoping not to, but the plunger head has to come out. I had greased it, checked the gear oil, and oiled the chains, and went out and baled a small field, then decided to bring it in because I had been wanting to reset the knife gap. It didn't want to adjust properly. Then, while running, it started to heat up. Turns out a spacer for the plungerhead has rust built up behind it, so it has to come out to clean out in there. Doesn't seem to be too bad, the worst seems to be baffles that has bolts that are behind other stuff.

What make/model baler?

The plunger head removal on my New Holland was very easy as the wooden slides were somewhere between worn and rotted out! Going
back in is where I found (with new wood slides) the bale chamber a bit out of square. Got the plunger in, but it was tight!

One of my timothy fields is ready. We have a weather window, if it holds next week. Will start cutting Monday, maybe a tad Sunday late
afternoon. Thunderstorms right now.

Fingers crossed.....
