Check Your Plungerhead Stops

Just a reminder for those with small square balers that have them. Two bales into first crop the needle lift arm on my JD 24T fell out of lift arm disk, leaving the needles up in the bale chamber. Plungerhead stop worked as it should and kept the needles safe. One cotter key and shear pin later and I was back baling. Had that plungerhead stop not been adjusted right it would have been a bad day!

To the tune of $600 if you can find good used needles and get aftermarket other parts from Finger Lakes Eqpt.

Deere could sell that spring for $200 and it'd be worth it.

Yep that is one of if not the first thing I check every time I mess with any square baler. BTDT and learned the hard way what happens when it does not work and a chain etc gets out of wack

Fortunately I've parted out a couple of other 24Ts and have spare needles and knotters/knotter frames. I just want to keep them as spares!
