I was getting the old IH 47 baler ready and I noticed both needles are rubbing as they come up to feed the wire to the knotters. There was a bit of slack (slop) and the cradle could be shifted to one side to
better center them. I put it away and thought about on and off and I started wondering about using bushings to shift the cradle to one side - is it common to do this? How hard would it be (baler is store a
couple miles away and hadn't gone to check it out yet.....
This is the same baler that was having an issue with a single needle getting bent - no one could figure out why. I believe now it is the result of it hitting the bottem side of the bale chamber instead of
going through the hole to feed the knotter.
