John Deere 530 Baler Question

I have a 530 JD baler that I am working on. How do you make the twine arm move and sweep when it is in the shop and running without any hay in it. I seems the little hyd. pump will not run with the pump drive belt until the baler has hay in it. I would like to make it work in the shop just to make sure it works and the moniter is OK.

Operators Manual has all the info.

Have to raise the tension arm so the belt will be tight to run the pump. Follow the OM so you do not damage the baler's flat belts.

Thanks. I see it now in the manual. It says not to run it to long after the arm cycles.

(quoted from post at 20:51:31 05/28/16) Yes, do not run long as the pump continues to run over relief. It relatches when the gate is raised to dump the bale.

IIRC when gate is raised and then ""gate is closed"" twine pump drive belt mechanism re-latches(disengages).
