Ford 515 rock guard bolts

Anyone know the sizing of these off hand? I snapped a couple due to rust while pulling off the guards to replace some ledger plates. Found that carriage bolts don't work due to the recess. Not good with imperial sizing so I don't know what to look for to order!

Why order??? Most any farm and home place will have the bolts and many have 2 or 3 sizes. I know places like Orscheln's has them since I buy them all the time form them. Most every spring around this time of year I am working on sickle bar mowers for my self and for other people. TSC and Orscheln's keep on hand guard and section that pretty much fit any or the sickle bar mowers I have had and right now I have parts and pieces if not whole Ford JD NH AC and Farmall sickle bar mowers

By the way I also have the manual for that Ford 515 sickle bar mower so if you do not have one I can send you any page you may want out of it

They are 7/16-14 x 1-1/2 long plow bolts. I would recommend minimum grade 5 bolts.

FWIW - with a credit card handy you can order an owners manual or download a pdf of it from New Hollands website. They also have GREAT
exploded parts diagrams you can print for free. That's where I found the bolt size you are looking for.

Years ago I had a 515 mower. Never used it - but I think they are a good mower.

I wish I could just walk into a store! Around here I'm a small-scale farmer surrounded by timber lands. Trying to get any sort of ag product requires that I drive 60+mi or order it online. Saves gas and time just ordering!

Thanks for that, got a full set ordered up.

Yeah, I really like my 515. Got it for a song, low hours, now I use it more than my 'hog.

Okay so you might try Orscheln's web site they sell and ship most anything they have in there stores. Send me an e-mail and I'll forward you one of there e-mail they send me which should make it easier for you to go the there web site. They send me e-mails of an on a lot telling me what is come up on sale like say there 303UTF that is on sale right now for $19.99 and normally it is $36.99

Remember that the hold downs take a longer bolt than the ones without a hold down. That is so they do not catch and drag what you are cutting.
