Hesston 1010 hydroswing swather

Looked at this hay mower yesterday.Seller hooked to tractor and it ran smooth.So I pulled it home.Should be fun to play with...think I'm gonna like being able to cut on both sides of the tractor.Also like the hydraulic drive design.
Bought it as a backup mower and because the price was right.Can't wait to try it out!

I had a JD hydroswing swather for a while. It was nice to be able to cut both ways instead of round and round, especially on corrigated fields. Hydro drive is nice in that you can turn really short and not clatter. It seemed to me that the hydro drive took a little more power to operate than direct drive but my swather was a 12 footer and I probably didn't have enough tractor. One thing I did as the prior owner suggested, was fasten a short "safety chain" from tractor to swather. If your hitch comes loose for some reason you can do some expensive damage when the hydraulic drive breaks the hoses.
