Wow! what a walking plow,

from my experience years ago, would hate to get that thing hung under a root, how on earth would you work it back and forth to get it unhung.

quite a find, never seen anything like that before!!!!!

Back in the day there were dozens of companies making plows like that. Could be anything from Sears to Moline to Burch to Garfield. There are some books on horse draw plows for collectors out there.

Remember they were usually small bottoms. I have seen some and bottms were likely in the 8-10" size and only was plowing at about 5" deep. The Pony walking plows had about the same size bottoms, standard walking plows were 12" or possibly 14" bottoms.

(quoted from post at 14:30:14 05/16/16) I wonder how many horses it would take to pull that.

Depends on the ground and horses. Anywhere from 4 to 8 would be a good start. Walking gang plows were made, or so I'm told, for those people who felt riding was either a sign of laziness or that it was too hard on the horses. At least that's the story as I heard it.
